TMZ reports that fitness coach “Richard” Simmons has died. He was 76 years old.

Simmons, whose real name was Milton Teagle, was famous in the 1980s for his flashy fitness tapes and DVDs.

Authorities think that the fall he had in his bathroom last night may have been linked to his death.

A Simmons’ housekeeper called 911 before 10 a.m., and police arrived and pronounced the star dead, according to TMZ.

At this point, there is no sign of foul play, and the death is being looked into as a natural one.

Simmons told People magazine before his birthday, “I am thankful that I am here and alive for another day.”

“I’ll spend my birthday doing what I do every day, which is to help people.”

TMZ said Simmons was found dead at his home early Saturday morning.

A old interview comes up again
A video clip from an interview Simmons did with sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer in 1985 has been found again. Westheimer died the day before Simmons.

In the video, the fitness instructor and doctor talk about fitness, cutting calories, and how families work.

One fan wrote under the interview clip on X, “Well we lost two sweet souls today.”

A lot of his fans wrote sad comments about how much they will miss him and how sorry they were for his family.

Dear Richard, you did a lot of good in the world. You did a lot of good for others. “I really believe that you lived your life with such a strong desire to help others,” one fan wrote.

“I’m sorry for what happened to your family, friends, and everything else you love. I’m seriously shocked right now. Rest in peace.”

“I’m starting to feel a little nervous now.” After about twenty minutes, he comes back and says the C word. Saying, “You have cancer.””
