THIS IS MY EX-HUSBAND’S NEW WIFE WHO UNEXPECTEDLY CONTACTED ME – WHAT SHE WROTE MADE ME GO PALE.
My ex-husband Kevin cheated on me 5 years ago, and I found out about this when he accidentally texted me instead of her.
In the message, he wrote her that he hated me because I couldn’t give him a baby (yes, I’m infertile).
Of course, I couldn’t forgive him, and we divorced. He soon married his affair girl, Jess. I didn’t hear anything about them as it still pains me until a month ago.
One evening, out of the blue, I got THIS message from her, “I need your help asap!!! I know it looks awful but ONLY YOU can save me.”
It shocked me to the core. It was full of despair.
The girl who once ruined my life was now begging me to help her. She asked me to secretly meet her at a restaurant while my ex was at work.
When I met her the next day, I went pale because…
…she was covered in bruises.
Faint ones around her wrist, darker ones along her forearm, and a large purple mark peeking out from the neckline of her blouse.
She looked terrified.
I had expected smugness, maybe guilt—but not this.
Jess’s hands shook as she gripped her coffee cup, her eyes darting around the restaurant like she expected Kevin to appear at any moment.
“I know I’m the last person you ever wanted to see,” she whispered. “And I know I don’t deserve anything from you. But… I had no one else to turn to.”
I stayed silent, my stomach twisting.
She took a shaky breath. “He’s not the man I thought he was.”
I clenched my fists.
Of course, he wasn’t.
She swallowed hard, eyes filling with tears. “He controls everything. My money, my phone, my friends. If I say something he doesn’t like, he—” She cut off, glancing away as if she was too ashamed to finish.
I closed my eyes.
I had spent years trying to forget the way Kevin had emotionally wrecked me, the way he made me feel like I was less because I couldn’t have children.
Now, sitting across from me, was the woman who once helped him destroy me—only now, he was destroying her.
Jess took my hand suddenly, desperation in her grip.
“I need to leave, but I have nothing. He made sure of that. I don’t even have access to my own bank account. I—I just need help. A safe place. Even just for a little while.”
I had a choice.
I could walk away.
Let her suffer. Let her deal with the man she chose.
Or… I could help her escape him.
I exhaled slowly. “Jess.”
Her teary eyes met mine.
“Let’s get you out of there.”
Her breath hitched. “You mean it?”
I gave her a small, firm nod.
“Kevin ruined me once,” I said. “He’s not ruining anyone else on my watch.”
