This 74-year-old woman used to be on TV in the 1980s but quit in order to take care of animals on her ranch.

This actress used to be a TV star, and her role on a hit show wowed viewers for years. But after a lot of bad relationships, she decided she needed a change in her life and quit Hollywood to find something better.

In the 1970s and 1980s, this actress became famous for her part on the multi-award-winning soap opera “Dallas.” Still, she knew she wanted something different after a string of failed relationships, including her first marriage ending in divorce, and years of great success.

She gave up the spotlight for a quieter life and now spends all of her time saving and caring for animals, which makes her happy every day. Check out her story and how “beautiful” she is now that she is 74.

Her rise to fame began in the early 1970s, when she played a part in “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean” with the legendary Paul Newman.

However, four years after her first movie, the star was so unhappy with how her career was going that she quit acting for good. She changed her focus and worked as an agent for the next three years.

By 1978, she wanted to go to law school and maybe become a studio executive because she loved the law and wanted to work in the business side of the entertainment industry.

The famous TV producer Aaron Spelling offered to pay for her law school for a year if she would agree to be in the pilot episode of “Fantasy Island” in 1977. But fate had other ideas. When she took the chance, it led to one of the most important roles of her career just a year later.

As Pamela Barnes Ewing on the hit CBS soap opera “Dallas,” that role changed her life. The show quickly became a fan favorite and was one of the longest-running TV shows of its time.

Before I even tried out for the part on ‘Dallas,’ I was already crazy about the show and the part. From the moment I read it, I knew it was something very special, and I wanted to be a part of it so badly. “I couldn’t picture myself not being Pam,” she said.

She became a mainstay of 1980s TV thanks to her role as Pam. “Some of the best TV I’ve ever seen in the first five years,” the actress said with a smile.

They met on “Dallas,” where she met her first husband, actor Christopher Skinner. Their relationship grew quickly, and after only three dates, they got married in a small ceremony in Las Vegas.

But cracks showed up quickly. She talked about their relationship: “After a while, Christopher realized he really did want someone who was home more and had more normal hours.” He wanted to get married in a more traditional way. It wasn’t his fault or mine. Changes are needed.”

“We got divorced not because we didn’t love each other, but because he couldn’t live the way I did and I couldn’t live the way he wanted,” she said. There wasn’t any hate, just sadness.

There were other bad relationships in the actress’s life besides her breakup with Skinner. Bernie Cornfeld, a famous financier at the time, was her boyfriend for a short time. Before she started dating pop star Andy Gibb, she was also with the famous singer Frank Sinatra.

The actress who played Pamela Barnes Ewing then quit “Dallas” after nine years on the show. She was getting more and more unhappy with the show by that point.

“[…] There was a clear drop after year seven.” When it was time for me to renegotiate my contract after seven years, she said, “I was very honest about my worry and disappointment.”

The Hollywood star quit because she was unhappy with how the writing was getting worse, and she did so after negotiating a new contract. Still, she didn’t slow down in her work. Her main focus was on making and acting in TV movies after she started her own production company.

She wrote her first of four health and wellness books, “The Body Principal,” in 1983. In 1991, she started a successful skin care business that she ran for almost 30 years. This was the peak of her business spirit.

The actress had a string of successful businesses and TV roles in the early 2000s, including a role on “Titans” from 2000 to 2001. But she felt like her priorities had changed. “By the time I turned 50, I knew I needed to make a change,” she said about her choice to quit Hollywood for good.

Victoria Principal, the famous actress in question, fell in love again in the mid-1980s. After her painful breakup with Gibb, Principal met Harry Glassman, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills.

As they both dealt with the end of their marriages, their relationship grew. When Glassman met Principal, he was in the process of divorcing his first wife, Jane.

In 1985, they got married. But Glassman once said, “The lack of privacy is one of the things I’ve grown to dislike about my relationship with Victoria.” After being together for over twenty years, the couple finally broke up in 2006.

Principal stayed committed to her skin care line Principal Secret over the years, but her heart was pulling her toward something else. The business was no longer hers after she quit in 2019.

“[…] I will be stepping down to devote myself full-time to my philanthropic work through The Victoria Principal Foundation for Thoughtful Existence and my rescue work with animals,” she said in a statement.

When the actress moved to a ranch outside of Los Angeles, her work to save animals became her main focus. By 2012, the actress had moved away from the Hollywood scene and lived a quieter life. She takes in animals that have been abused or neglected and helps them get better on her ranch.

They need medical help, time, and love to get better on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. “This is not a charity; it’s something I’ve dreamed of, and they all want to spend the rest of their lives with me,” she said.

“It’s something that fills me with joy every day,” she said. “I have no plans to resume acting, but I learned a long time ago to ‘never say never,’ because life has a way of giving us unexpected gifts if we are paying attention,” the former Hollywood star said about acting.

Main has stayed a well-liked public figure even after leaving the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. The actress shared a beautiful picture of herself embracing her horse on social media in August. People were amazed at how beautiful Principal looked at 74.

Victoria Principal found happiness in taking care of animals and giving back to the community after leaving the entertainment business. She is still beautiful at 74 years old, showing that the only way to be truly happy is to follow your passion and live your life as it is.
