Teenage superstar was killed in a shooting at just 21

ESPN says that Marcus “MJ” Daniels was shot and killed on Tuesday night.

The cornerback for the University of Southern Mississippi last year was 21 years old.

“The University of Southern Mississippi and the Department of Athletics mourn the loss of M.J. Daniels, whose life was lost Tuesday evening during an incident that occurred off campus,” the statement said.

“We send our sincere condolences to his family, friends and teammates during this difficult time.”

Police want to know something.
The police in Hattiesburg want anyone who knows anything about the shooting that killed MJ Daniels to come forward.

In a statement, Hattiesburg Police Chief Hardy Sims said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Daniels family.”

“Everything we can to find the criminals and bring justice to the victim and his family.”

“We need people in the community to help us by coming forward with any information they may have about this terrible event and Marcus Daniels’s untimely death.”

Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of a felony suspect.

Found in his car
Police said that MJ Daniels was found in his car outside of an apartment building near the University of Southern Mississippi on Tuesday night.

The police said he was killed by a gunshot.

The reasons for moving
The 6-foot-2 star was a four-star recruit out of high school, and in 2021, he committed to play football at Ole Miss.

But in his first two seasons, he had a hard time getting on the field. Before the start of the 2023 season, he transferred to rival Southern Miss.

Tuesday night, Daniels Jr. was shot and killed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was killed less than a mile from M.M. Roberts Stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Fans keep sending prayers
Fans of college football are praying for the family of MJ Daniels, who was shot and killed on Tuesday night.
