After 18 years of marriage, Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce, leaving Kevin Costner reportedly “stunned” and unprepared.
The shocking information from this week became out when Baumgartner filed the paperwork on Monday, alleging “irreconcilable differences.”
According to a statement from Costner’s agent, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have taken place which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
In order to get through this tough period, “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected.”
Costner and Baumgartner were wed in 2004. The couple’s three children, ages 12, 15, and 14, are Grace and Cayden. Costner and Baumgartner reportedly want joint custody of their children in the event of a divorce.
When the pair was last seen together in March, there were no rumors of a breakdown in their relationship (as there normally are in such situations).
According to insiders, fans weren’t the only ones who were stunned to hear that Baumgartner and Costner’s nearly 20-year marriage was coming to an end.
Oscar-winning actor and Yellowstone star Kevin Costner reportedly didn’t know that his wife was thinking about filing for divorce, according to Page Six.
One friend allegedly continued, “Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce, and he would take her back.”
It hurts him since he loves her and his children.
According to reports, 68-year-old Costner, who maintains a very busy schedule, spent months away from home in Montana filming his well-known Western series Yellowstone. Rumors suggest that his absence may have led to problems in his marriage.
Following a real avalanche of charges involving his alleged practice of adultery, the actor’s high-profile $80 million divorce from Cindy Costner occurred in 1994. Sources claim that Costner has not this time left his matrimonial bed, nevertheless.
Cheating wasn’t a problem, a buddy told Page Six. A Costner representative denied the allegations, claiming they are “absolutely not true.”
Costner’s friend remarked, “I don’t know whether Kevin even realizes the reasons.
Another source with experience in the production of Yellowstone stated: “No one was aware of any problems. He was not isolated on the set and often went to see his family.
A prenup is apparently in place to protect Costner’s rumored $250 million fortune, and Baumgartner’s divorce suit reportedly did not contain a request for spousal maintenance.
The friend of Costner who was quoted by Page Six as saying, “He’s shooting right now, and it’s all very upsetting,” “You don’t anticipate your wife filing for divorce at a time when you least anticipate it.”
For the parties involved, a separation of this kind is never easy. We are offering prayers for Christine and Kevin.
