A person with a lot of followers on Instagram died suddenly of a blood clot after the procedure.
Stephanie Larrea, 30, died on Tuesday from a pulmonary embolism. She had surgery just a few days before.
Elena’s family confirmed on social media that she died of a pulmonary thrombosis, which is when a blood clot moves from the legs to the lungs.
Even though no one knows for sure what caused the blood clot to form, it is thought that she died after having liposuction.
The influential person was known for her work to protect animals. Seven years ago, she started the Cuacolandia horse sanctuary.
She worked hard to save horses, donkeys, mules, and other animals that had been abused or left behind.
In her state, Elena helped change the law so that bestiality is now a crime.
The star even worked with OnlyFans to keep the shelter in Atlixco, which is southeast of Mexico City, from going out of business.
At the time, she said that she was having money problems because of the COVID-19 pandemic and turned to the adult platform to keep the sanctuary open.
Elena said, “I was already thinking about closing the sanctuary and help the horses find new homes.”
“People I know told me, ‘You should open an OnlyFans. What if it works out?'”
“Look, I’m going to open one and see if it hits” when I was in a tough spot.
The business plan worked, and the influencer was able to save the sanctuary from doom with the money he or she made.
Cuacolandia now has almost 50 animals living there and has saved 312 horses from being abused or left behind.
In a touching tribute to the activist who died, state governor Sergio Salomon talked about how much of an impact her work had.
He said, “I deeply regret the death of Elena Larrea. She was a tireless advocate for animal welfare.”
“The fact that she saved thousands of abused horses is proof of her life and work.”
“On behalf of the government of Puebla, we want her family and friends to know that we are with them.”
“We can be sure that the animals at Cuacolandia are safe with the Ministry of the Environment.”
“We will do everything we can to make sure that the authorities take care of other horses in addition to the ones that have already been rescued, always putting their health first.”
“We will do what you did.” Elena, may you rest in peace.
She said before she died, “I have loved horses so much my whole life. I have been riding them since I was a little girl.”
“As an adult, I had the chance to repay the horses for all they had done for me, so I chose to open the Cuacolandia sanctuary.”
No one knows if the police are looking into how she died.
