Jennifer Duncan crashed her car on a bridge and fell 9 meters. It all started on a morning that seemed as usual as all the others. Jennifer (23 years old) was taking her 8-month-old son to the nursery, but while crossing a bridge, the woman’s car collided with another car. That’s why, after the accident, both drivers stopped on the side of the road waiting for the police. They thought I was safe there, but they didn’t know how much they could be wrong.

Suddenly coming from nowhere, a third driver crossing the bridge lost control of the steering wheel and collided with the car parked right in front of them, the impact pushing them over the railing of the bridge.

As they fell free to the pavement under the bridge, Jennifer had only one thought: to save her baby, so she wrapped herself instinctively around the little boy and turned into a human shield of protection.

Her quick thinking worked. Her son not only survived, moreover: he did not even have an injury! On the other hand, Jennifer has made a huge sacrifice and her life will never be the same. She was rushed to hospital, had a fractured pelvis, nine broken hind bones, fractures of her lower limbs and ribs, and many other injuries.

In the following period, the woman lost a leg, underwent 14 surgeries, and spent many months in hospital for recovery. Here is what she remembers from those terrible moments: “My main concern was to keep him safe, to make sure he would be fine. It took only a second until I realized what was happening and seeing that I started to fall, I tried to stick as close to him as possible ”.

A simple mother has become a hero, this is possible only because of parental love.
