Mick Jagger wrote a message after his girlfriend’s tragic death to show a different side of himself.
In the middle of their fame, The Rolling Stones’ members went through loss, melancholy, and grief. Jagger showed a different side of himself after he broke up with L’Wren Scott.
After performing as the main act at the British Summer Time concert in Hyde Park, the artist’s heartbreaking statement from years earlier reappears.
On their 2014 tour, the Rolling Stones were playing a show in Australia when L’Wren Scott passed away. Jagger decided to go back to New York, where he was living with the late model and fashion designer, thus it was postponed immediately away.
He posted an unusual comment on his website shortly after the confirmation to publicly express his sorrow.
“I still don’t understand how my dearest and closest friend could end her life in such a horrific way. We were able to create a comfortable life for ourselves and have many happy years together. She had a strong presence, and I was really taken by her talent, he said.
The couple allegedly broke up right before Scott committed suicide, though. A law enforcement source also referred to her as Jagger’s “ex-lover”.
Jagger’s management then clarified the claims, saying the couple was still together when she passed away.
What happened to L’Wren Scott?
In 2014, Scott asked Brittany Penebre, her assistant, to meet her at her duplex on West 24th Street and 11th Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Scott contacted Penebre at 8:30 a.m.
But when the assistant arrived, he saw her hanging from the apartment’s L-shaped door handle. She also draped a scarf around her neck. According to a law enforcement source, it was a “painless” method to die.
Scott did not leave a suicide note, but drugs and malicious intent were ruled out.
Later, Julie Bolcer, a representative for the New York City chief medical examiner’s office, verified that the deceased committed suicide.
Her London-based company, LS Fashion Ltd., was found to be deeply in debt before to her death. After having a $4.2 million deficit in 2011, it had a $5.9 million deficit in 2012.
Her sudden postponement of her London Fashion Week show due to “production difficulties in the big show and couture pieces” coincided with her death. Nevertheless, a second insider revealed that the delay was actually due to her failing business.
