Michael J. Fox’s wife opens up

Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have divulged the key to a successful marriage that has lasted for an incredible 34 years.

Fox, 61, and Pollan, 62, have been married since 1988 and have been blessed with four children together: a son, Sam, who is 33 years old; twin daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler, 28; and a daughter, Esme, who is 21 years old. They had their first encounter with one another in 1985 on the set of Family Ties, where they were both cast as love interests of other.

According to comments that Pollan made to People magazine, “I think we truly listen to one other, and we are there for each other when we need each other.”

“And then, in addition to that, we make sure to give each other space when it’s called for. Simply getting a sense of what’s required right now and making an effort to be there.

Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie is a documentary about Michael J. Fox’s ascent to prominence in the 1980s and his subsequent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1991 at the age of 29. The couple is now out promoting the film.

“Tracy provides our family with all that we could possibly require. All that is good in our family, everything that is good that we do, originates from her,” Fox stated further.

Upon earning the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in November of the previous year, Fox gave a public speech in which he reminisced on his shocking diagnosis.

“I was told that I only had ten years left to work,” said the employee. That is a piece of s***. That is exactly what transpired. According to what the actor from “Back to the Future” remarked about the experience at the time, the most difficult aspect of his diagnosis was “struggling with the certainty of the diagnosis and the ambiguity of the situation.”

“I had no doubt that things would only become worse. The diagnosis was without a doubt, but the prognosis about the course of events was undefined and unknown. My wife has made it abundantly obvious that she will be staying with me during this entire process.

He went on to say that he had kept the illness a secret from everyone for a period of seven years because he was in “denial.”

“Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that I needed to inform everyone. I was aware that it would have a significant bearing on my professional life,” he continued.

“The events that followed were truly amazing. The outpouring of love that I received from the general public, the beautiful reaction that I received from all of my colleagues in the entertainment industry, all of you (thank you), and the people that I worked with was life-changing.
