Iconic Actor Dead at 98

An iconic soap opera actor has passed away.

According to reports, Days of Our Lives star Bill Hayes has passed away. Hayes iconically played opposite of his real-life wife Susan Seaforth.

In 1970, the talented couple met on set. After immediately hitting it off, the co-stars got married 4 years later on October 12, 1974.

Eventually, their characters got married on the show too, two years later, in fact, in October 1976. And believe it or not, as TMZ reports, Bill and Susan actually read the vows they said to each other at their real wedding during their TV wedding!

How cool is that?

Hayes was also a singer. You may know one of his more popular songs, The Ballad of Davy Crocket. Take a listen:

Hayes’s cause of death is not immediately clear. He was 98 at the time of his passing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.
