He died right before his standup show

ACHE FOR MARLON He “broke down and cried” on stage when he learned that his father had died right before his stand-up show.

It was MARLON Wayans who said he cried on stage right after his father died.

The funny man said that the fans were there to make him feel better.

Michael Strahan, host of Good Morning America, asked Marlon, 51, if it makes him feel weird to talk about such personal things on stage after showing a clip from his upcoming comedy special, Good Grief.

“No, I don’t know why, but on the stage, I am my most vulnerable,” he stated.

“I cry more on the stage.”

One hour before he went on stage, his dad died.

“I had two shows. Flappers, it was a small space, and I was just putting out stuff. My dad died, and I did my hour-and-a-half on stage, which was really funny. “They stood up and cheered for me, and then I broke down and cried,” he said.

“I told the audience what had happened.”

“When you allow yourself to be vulnerable like that, the support you get from your fans, is incredible,” he said.

He said that the crowd’s support and energy made it possible for him to go on stage and perform.

Along with the sad news, the actor posted a picture of himself and his father on Instagram.

Wayell gave Marlon a kiss on the head while Marlon smiled and made a peace sign.

“Fable. As a kid, I asked my dad, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He just said, “I wanted to be a man.” I asked, “Why not a lawyer?” A doctor? Who is that?’ “He said ‘just a man,'” Marlon wrote for the picture.

“But every boy grows up to be a man,” I said. “Not true,” Dad said. “Then what is a man?” I asked. My dad always told me, “A man takes care of himself and his needs.” His family comes first all the time. That day made me want to be a MAN.

“Pop, thanks for being a good man for all your boys.” I hope that all black boys can become men like you.

He also told her that his “baby boy loves him.”

At the end, Marlon asked his dad to kiss his mom for him.

“Tell her that her kids miss her.” “I have two angels,” he said.

Elvira Alethia, Marlon’s mother, died in 2020. She was 81 years old.

GOOD GRAIN
Good Grief, Marlon’s comedy special, will be available on Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, June 4.

His parents’ deaths, his son’s coming of age, and other more personal events in his life will be talked about in his stand-up show.
