Blake Shelton is certain that all of his fellow Voice coaches watch his outlandish antics before he departs permanently at the conclusion of the current season, even if it’s his wife Gwen Stefani.

The country singer triggered a fiery fight round in the most recent episode of The Voice season 22 that had No Doubt’s lead singer shivering with wrath. When Gwen asked team members Cara Brindisi and Jay Allen to sing “Leather and Lace” by Don Henley and Stevie Nicks, it happened. She knew Cara would win, but she wasn’t ready to let go of Jay just yet. In a double-surprise turn of events, Gwen used her one save on him, but she wasn’t expecting her husband to fly in and frighten her.

Just as Blake stepped in with the ultimate Voice betrayal, she said, “Honestly, that was such a hard one for me, and it was so confounding because I knew that I wanted to help Jay.” What happens if Jay is taken?

My my, that was a bold move! Although Gwen was upset by Blake’s dishonesty, Voice fans weren’t that upset.

According to a YouTube user, Blake is the show’s “heart, soul, raw talent, and comic relief.” Because of this, Blake will be missed. “I can’t imagine this show being as good or as popular as it has been without Blake,” another viewer remarked. Blake Shelton is a legend and everything said another devotee.

Blake’s tactical move might not have completely surprised everyone, but the NBC drama’s key players surely were. “It’s a save against a steal between husband and wife,” announcer Carson Daly exclaimed as the scenario took a dramatic turn.
