Goldie Hawn has battled mental illness while being recognized for her work with multiple awards, playing in Hollywood blockbusters, dating Kurt Russell since 1983, and having a growing family.
In a candid video, Goldie Hawn stated her desire for a “regular life.” I wanted to go home, get married, open a dancing school, be happy, and have children,” she proclaimed.I wanted to live a normal life, but I wasn’t really getting it. My professional career remained blossoming, and I was honored with an Oscar. Hawn is alluding to the Oscar she earned in 1969 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the movie Cactus Flower.
At the age of 24, she would “go back into [her] dressing room and lie down.”
“I was incredibly alarmed out about this uneasiness coming over me,” Hawn remarked.
“I honestly and physically stopped smiling. I wasn’t overly pleased for someone who desired to live a happy life.
Hawn sought advice from a professional in order to “learn more about what was going on with [her] brain.”
I decided to go to a psychologist, she acknowledged.I began to rediscover who I was after a year.
But rest assured that I am familiar with the feelings of anxiety and depression.
According to the top mental health charity Mind, anxiety is what we feel when we are worried, anxious, or afraid.
Anxiety is the “normal human response” to being threatened, especially during trying times in life.
However, when it interferes with daily life, a disease can make a person’s life impossible.
When: Anxiety is considered a mental health issue;
You feel really anxious or anxious all the time.
Your concerns or fears seem excessive in light of the situation.
You avoid situations that might make you feel anxious.
You fight to keep your worries under control or feel intense sorrow.
You experience various signs of anxiety as well as regular panic episodes.
You find it difficult to do daily tasks or partake in fun activities.
Anxiety can cause a variety of physical symptoms, including heart palpitations and stomach churning.
The condition may result in headaches, excessive sweating, nausea, and difficulty sleeping.
Depression
Depression, according to Mind, “is a low mood that lasts for a long time and interferes with your daily life.”
Depression may manifest as a mild kind of low mood that makes getting through each day seem more challenging and unsatisfying.
At its worst, depression can be fatal because it can make you feel suicidal, the group stated.
One of the basic symptoms of depression is feeling.
gloomy, depressed, or tearful
anxious, impatient, or dissatisfied
You feel unhappy, useless, and guilty.
empty and numb
alone and unable to make friends
having little happiness in life or delightful activities you usually like
an appearance of reality
lack of confidence or self-esteem
frantic and hopeless
Suicidal.
Sadness and anxiety are both treatable through therapy.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), one type of talking therapy, may be helpful.
You can talk to your doctor or a mental health professional about the options that are available in your region, Mind continued.
