Fans of Celine Dion received some frightening news last year as the iconic singer revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition that necessitated her to take a break from performing.
Dion released her first brand-new song today after learning of her illness, and her fans are gushing over it. Fans can still purchase new records from the pop sensation even though they won’t be able to see her play live anytime soon.
The official lyric video for Dion’s “Love Again,” the tune that serves as the movie’s theme song, was just released.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film Love Again also stars Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra Jones in addition to Celine Dion, who plays herself in her first-ever film role.
Six of Celine Dion’s timeless songs are included on the soundtrack for the film, which will be out on May 12 and including “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”
Because several of Dion’s best successes have been on movie soundtracks, including “Beauty and the Beast” and “Because You Loved Me” (from Up Close and Personal), fans will definitely be excited to hear all the songs she has written for this new film. “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, of course.
Because it’s the first song she’s published in English since her 2019 album Courage and the first after she revealed a serious medical diagnosis last year, fans are enthused about this new song.
Dion disclosed that she suffered from stiff-person syndrome, a “one in a million” condition. In a poignant video shared with followers on Instagram, this degenerative nerve system condition affects the brain and spinal cord, can cause agonizing spasms, and can limit mobility. Despite the disease’s irreversibility, symptoms can be controlled.
“I’ve always been an open book, and I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now,” Dion said.
Dion has never before revealed the underlying ailment that caused her muscle spasms, which forced her to postpone her North American tour dates in January.
Despite the fact that we are still learning about this odd illness, the singer claimed, “We now know this is what has been causing all of the spasms I’ve been having.”Unfortunately, these spasms disrupt every aspect of my everyday life, making it occasionally challenging for me to walk and prohibiting me from singing as I typically would.
Dion acknowledged that the news was painful and that many of her fans were saddened, but she expressed hope that with time and additional treatments, she might be able to recover her voice and start performing again.
With the help of my sports medicine therapist, I work very hard every day to rebuild my strength and performance capacity. I must admit, though, that it hasn’t been easy,” Dion said. “I have a wonderful team of doctors working with me to help me get better,” the patient says. “My precious kids are supporting me and giving me hope.”
“Performing on stage in front of all of you. When I perform, I always offer everything I’ve got, but right now my health makes that impossible.
Since making that comment, Dion has maintained a low profile, but her sister Claudette has shared positive updates on her health.
Le Journal de Montréal quoted Claudette as saying, “I am certain that life will repay her for what she did since she is an incredibly educated woman, very generous and talented, and in love with life.Instead of lamenting her demise, I try to have positive thoughts for her in the hopes that she’ll one day perform again.
“I have a strong belief in the power of love. I’m sure hoping for the best for her. She is receiving care from professionals as she recovers.
Celine Dion has sold more than 200 million records all over the world. Some of the well-known singles are “The Power of Love,” “Because You Loved Me,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and the Titanic theme song, “My Heart Will Go On.” Falling into You and Let’s Talk About Love, two of her platinum-selling albums, are among the best albums of all time.
Five Grammy Awards are given to her, including ones for Album and Record of the Year. Her previous engagement in Las Vegas was the highest-earning residency in music history.
We think Celine Dion has a special gift and wish her the best. Even if she can’t perform live shows anymore, we’re glad she’s still releasing new music.
