A boy who was 11 years old died because of a very dangerous social media trend. His family is sad about this. Now, the family wants to warn other people and tell parents to talk to their kids about it so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Tommie-Lee Billington, 11, from Lancaster, England, died because of a disturbing trend among young people on TikTok.

Following the deaths of two teenage girls while taking part in the same “challenge” on the app, The Sun reports.

It all began on Saturday when Tommie, then 11, went to a friend’s house for a sleepover. The boys then “huffed” when they saw a TikTok challenge.

To do this, you have to breathe in dangerous gases or solvents that get you high. Dry shampoo, spray deodorant, and glue are some examples.

The boy’s heart stopped right away when Tommie and his friend decided to join the TikTok trend. The medical staff says he died right away. The family is now grieving over the tragic death of the 11-year-old.

He has told other parents to talk to their kids and tell them not to use TikTok, which is his mother’s name. She wrote on Facebook, “This cost my son his life because he tried to do something other kids do.” Talk to your kids about what will happen if they do this. I don’t understand why anyone would try this! It’s really risky!”

“I’ve never been in this much pain before.” Oh, my whirlwind. I love you so much, buddy. My little boy. You will always be in my heart. She writes on her Facebook page, “I will do everything I can to make sure that your name and beautiful face save the lives of other children and shield other families from this unbearable pain.”

Thomas, please rest in peace. During this hard time, our thoughts are with the family. Now, let’s work together to get this very important message out there so no other kids follow this dangerous trend!
