Over the years, the internet has been full of “spooky” pictures. If you want to find pictures of things like Big Foot sightings, flying saucers in the sky, and ghosts showing up in the windows of old, run-down homes, you can find plenty of them.

We’ll be honest right away: most of those pictures aren’t nearly as hard to explain as people say they are.

The supernatural or spooky part is usually just a blurry picture from the camera or the work of someone with too much time on their hands who knows how to use Photoshop.

Having said that, there are photos that, in some way, don’t make sense. Runner Kay Borleis found something a little scary in a picture that was taken of her while she was running 100 miles through the Hawaiian rainforest. I don’t understand why anyone would do something so physically hard, but that’s not what’s important here.

Reports say Kay took part in the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run in 2019. In this race, runners do five laps of a 20-mile loop through dense rainforest.

Kay was joined by her friend Cassie, who was working as a pacer. Cassie took pictures of Kay and her friend while they ran.

The picture that came out of it looked like Kay was walking along a muddy path in the middle of the jungle. But when she looked more closely at the picture, she saw something that we can only call unsettling.

Kay wrote on Reddit, “This picture was taken by my pacer.”

“Look at the person in the picture to the left of my head. Along the trail, there were no statues and no one ever came by.

“It looks real and wasn’t edited or made.” This is real.”

Close-ups of the picture do seem to show a dark figure dressed in ragged clothes that looks like it’s watching Kay run. What Kay said, though, was that no one was there at the time.

She said, “The legend says that the island is haunted by the ghosts of Hawaiian warriors. They are called Night Marchers.”

“They are killer shades, demons, and revenants that live on the island.” They are the angry, rabid ghosts of Hawaiian fighters, heroes, and warriors from the past.

We learned more about this and learned that “ancient Hawaiian beliefs say that anyone looking at or being seen by the marchers will die horribly and violently.” Many say that if a person lies still on the ground and bows down to the marchers, they are showing the marchers respect, fear, and reverence, and they will be forgiven and spared.

“Thank goodness we didn’t see the Night Marcher.”
