A lady went to the bar on a cruise ship and ordered a Scotch with two drops of water.
The bartender gave her the drink, and she said,
“I’m on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday—and it’s today.”
The bartender smiled and said,
“Well then, happy birthday! This one’s on me.”
After she finished, a woman sitting next to her said,
“I’d like to buy you a drink too.”
The lady replied,
“That’s so kind of you. Bartender, I’ll have another Scotch with two drops of water.”
A little later, a gentleman on her other side said,
“I’d like to buy you a drink as well!”
The lady smiled warmly,
“Thank you, dear. Bartender, I’ll have another Scotch with two drops of water.”
By now, the bartender was curious. When he handed her the third drink, he said,
“Ma’am, I have to ask… why do you always order Scotch with only two drops of water?”
The old woman giggled and said:
“At my age, I can’t drink water anymore… it gives me heartburn!” 😄
