A Husband and Wife in the Church

A husband and wife are sitting through an extended speech in church.

The woman eventually becomes exhausted and falls asleep.

When the husband becomes aware of this, he wakes her up by poking her with his finger.

The priest also addresses the crowd at this point with a question.

“Who set the Egyptian slaves free?”

The wife, extremely upset at being awakened, yelled “GOD” at the husband.

After a while, the wife falls asleep once more. When the priest asks, the husband rouses her up this time again.

“Who gave their lives in exchange for our sins?”

A. “JESUS CHRIST,” again snapped the wife.

Annoyed at being startled by the husband’s jab.

As the sermon continues, the wife again nods off, which is unsurprising.

As the priest asks, her husband notices her again and prods her to wake her up.

“What did Eve say to Adam after they had their last child?”

“I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU POKE ME WITH THAT THING ONE MORE TIME I’M GOING TO TAKE IT AND SNAP IT IN HALF”
