The frustration of having what feels like a million plastic shopping bags in our cupboards is something that most of us are familiar with. You gather the bags, put them in the pantry, and mostly forget about them until your kitchen becomes cluttered and overflowing with the bags. It’s draining.

One Redditor, though, has had enough. They recently brought up Walmart pick-up orders, when each item on their list was delivered in a different plastic bag.

The author of the original post in r/extremelyinfuriating reveals that each of their most recent purchases came in a separate bag.

Another user noticed the picture and felt it belonged on the r/anticonsumption site, where people were equally horrified by the obvious waste.

In addition to being difficult to manage and dispose of, plastic bags are particularly harmful to the environment since they are so difficult to recycle. Plastic bags are typically not accepted at recycling facilities because they stick to the equipment and cause jams (like when they pick up your plastics at the curb).

They are frequently thrown in the trash as a result of this. And even when they are properly disposed of, only around 5% of plastic waste is ever recycled, leading some to label it a “failed concept.”

The good news is that a lot of grocery stores accept used bags, and there are plastic film drop-off places all around the country.

However, it still is frustrating to receive so many bags in the first place. Because of this, a lot of people concurred quickly about how aggravating the Redditor’s message was.

One user comments, “I hate when I ask for as few bags as possible, and they think I mean, ‘put a bunch of stuff together in the same bag and then double bag all the bags,'” another adds.

Another person remarks, “It is mind-boggling that they put every single item into its own bag.
