Eli Hill, a youngster of eight years old who lived in Corbin, Kentucky, went outdoors to play basketball one day, and there was no sign of any trouble. Sadly, it didn’t take long for the game to devolve into a tragic catastrophe that took the life of this young youngster.
The child reportedly tried to fetch something to stand on in order to dunk the ball into the basket, but then, all of a sudden, the backboard hit him and crushed his chest, causing him to pass away from blunt force trauma, as reported by WKYT.
The Hill family thought their son was one of a kind for sure. They spoke highly of his caring and compassionate nature, as well as his extensive knowledge of athletics.
“Eli was just eight years old. But in his eight years, he has shone his light so brightly,” said Ashley Hill, Eli’s mother. “He is a shining example.” “We just can’t express how proud we are of him. We cannot express how incredibly proud we are of the legacy he has left behind.
The family came to the conclusion that it would be best to donate his organs so that someone else might benefit from Eli’s golden heart.
“For those of you who knew Eli Hill, you understand how much happiness one child can bring not just into your life, but also into whatever environment in which he resides. For the youngster who adored baseball more than anybody else on the face of the earth, it was easy to identify one figure who added a unique dimension to the game.
The family also issued a warning through the police department requesting that individuals refrain from donating money to the GoFundMe page that was set up in their name because it wasn’t actually them who set it up.
The Better Business Bureau issues a warning about potentially fraudulent crowdfunding campaigns and encourages donors to verify all information before making a contribution.
