Mia Robertson underwent cleft palate surgery in March, and Missy Robertson has now offered an update and some images of her. She also posted several pictures from the Easter get-togethers for the Duck Dynasty family.
Missy gave the first pictures of Mia after the operation. The 17-year-old had her fourteenth cleft palate operation.
What an incredible weekend! Huge amounts of food, family, and faith are all crucial.
Mia is doing fantastically! I appreciate your prayers and well wishes very much. We have felt each one of them. She still has a ways to go, but she has gone so far so quickly in such a short time,” she continued.
“Resurrection Sunday is a reminder that one day we will no longer experience any physical anguish and that we will live forever. We have such tremendous Hope in Jesus! She stated in the image captions.
The pictures depict the Robertson family throughout numerous generations celebrating Easter Sunday together.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson also sent a tribute to his granddaughter.
In a tweet, Robertson stated, “I met Mia today and told her, ‘Girl, you are lovely.'” “It has been two and a half weeks after her surgery, and she is doing fantastic. I’m grateful for all the prayers.
Cleft palate, often known as an aperture in the palate, is a condition that Mia Robertson was born with. She has undergone numerous bone graft treatments since 2012 to close the cleft as it reopens and separates with age, as her father recently detailed on his “Unashamed” podcast.
According to her father Jase Robertson, the doctors had to break her jaws in order to set the lower jaw back and the upper jaw forward. Even worse, doctors are unwilling to give her any medicines because “she needs to keep her wits about her” in case she chokes, according to Jase Robertson.
Medical personnel created a 3D model of Mia’s mouth and jaw following surgery. They acknowledged that they believed Missy and Jase fit that paradigm successfully. Even while Missy said they have already seen promising signs of her healing, it is expected that she will struggle with some swelling for around a year. She will keep seeing specialists for the next 12 months.
Since Mia’s surgery, Missy has updated fans on her status and outlook. A lot of it has consisted of unwinding at home while playing cards, the piano, and generally relaxing.
Additionally, Robertson’s competitive attitude doesn’t stop even when you’re not feeling well. When she recently asked for card games, Jase said, “I don’t care if you’re sick. In her article, Missy vowed, “I won’t let you win.”
The website states that the family started the Mia Moo Foundation to help raise “awareness and finances for treatments of cleft lip and palate.”
