Divorces are more frequent than long-term unions in Hollywood, as we’ve recently seen everywhere. However, some unions last a very long time, such as that of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. One of these couples is Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon.
Kyra was just twelve years old when she first met Kevin Bacon. She met him after seeing a film with Bacon with her brother.
Ten years later, on the set of Lemon Sky, their paths were supposed to meet once more. According to Kyra, Bacon wasn’t initially her type: “He definitely wasn’t my type. In fact, I can still distinctly remember staring at his butt after our first encounter and thinking, “Well, I guess some girls like that.”
However, sincere love grew between the two, and in 1988 they were wed.
After a 34-year marriage, the couple celebrated their anniversary. They welcomed their two adorable sons, Travis Sedgwick Bacon and Sosie Ruth.
In 2008, Kyra remarked in an interview with Redbook, “If someone had told me that at 22 I would meet the man I would marry and that at 23 I would marry him and have a child, I would have told them they were out of their mind.”
Bacon uses the captions of his social media posts to publicly show his thanks for Kyra.
However, their relationship wasn’t always blissful.
“Beautiful things were happening at the same time that I was reaching what I believed to be the bottom, including my wife and our children’s births. And I was still able to support myself, which always gave me courage, Bacon told the reporters.
In one of the largest Ponzi schemes in historical history, Bernie Madoff tricked Bacon. If you’re looking for a nice movie to see next, The Wizard of Lies, starring Robert De Niro, should be on your list. It does a great job of capturing the ponzi swindle.
Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick “only” lost $30 to $40 million, despite claims to the contrary that they lost $100 million.
Bacon acknowledged to The Guardian that it was a terrible day, but “very quickly we were able to appreciate all the things we had in proportion to whatever we lost, and those are the biggest clichés: children, health, love, a wonderful home. We managed to overcome it as a result. I seldom ever think about Madoff.
first cousins
While appearing on the US television show “Finding Your Origins,” Kyra was shocked to hear that she and Bacon are ninth cousins!
It can be perplexing to realize you’re in love with your distant cousin. Even though Kyra said “she knew it,” Kevin thought she still referred to it as “a little frightening.” But she made it clear that it is allowed as long as they are not first cousins.
Despite the fact that it was a shocking discovery, Kevin and Kyra didn’t think twice about making a big out of it.
In their LA home, they truly like spending time together.
Kyra acknowledged to People that she was writing a little bit, although not knowing if she was any good at it.
You only need to find something to do, after all. We do watch a lot of TV and read a lot, even if I don’t read Shakespeare with my husband. We never stop reading. I continue reading. Without a doubt, I make an effort to include work into my daily life.
Bacon makes an effort to make Kyra feel special.
Kyra said, “I don’t know how he does it, but he always makes me feel like I’m the only girl in the room — the most gorgeous lady in the room.”
He is so morally upright. He has impeccable morals. He has strong moral principles, which I find sexy, and he doesn’t cheat or lie, the woman remarked. “Kevin’s calm demeanor and absence of “crazy” continue to astound me.”
She also acknowledges how well they get along in bed.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly from 2015, Bacon provided some sage advice. The phrase goes, “Don’t take celebrity marriage advice, whatever you do.”
