A man makes the decision to end his life

A dog is the most devoted and dependable friend there is.

Just ask 25-year-old Byron, who would not be present today if not for his dog friend Geo.

Byron, a native of Gloucester, England, suffered from a severe case of despair when a romance ended. He hit the bottle to drown out his suffering and his demons.

Following several months of binge drinking, Byron constructed a noose and wrote his loved ones one last letter before killing himself.

He had made up his mind to die and was ready to do it.

However, one resident of the house resisted watching his best buddy say goodbye.

The 25-year-old Byron Taylor thought he had hit rock bottom and couldn’t see a way out.

One day, drunk to the gills, he built a noose. He then reportedly made his way downstairs to compose a final letter to his family, as reported by the Daily Mail.

But when Byron went back upstairs, he saw that Geo was eating something.

Geo, a six-year-old Welsh bullmastiff, was biting the rope while Byron was downstairs. When Byron attempted to take back the rope, Geo refused.

At first, Byron thought Geo merely wanted to play. He soon realized, though, that the dog was being serious. Since Geo had somehow glimpsed what Byron would do, he clenched his teeth as if he would bite Byron if the latter tried to wrestle the rope out of his lips.

And when Geo finally let go of the rope, it was in ruins.

Byron asserts that he wouldn’t be alive now if it weren’t for Geo.

“In a way, I think Geo knew what I was about to do. When it comes to this kind of thing, they possess a sixth instinct. Byron asserts that he was aware of an issue.

Geo’s quick action derailed Byron’s strategy and changed his perspective.

Though Byron made great efforts to overcome his melancholy, he was dealt another devastating blow a few years later.

Geo’s terrible tumor had just days to live, according to the prognosis.

Through an internet fundraising campaign, Byron covered Geo’s medical expenses. Despite the vets’ best efforts, the dog was unable to be saved.

Byron vowed to do everything he could to help Geo enjoy his last days to the fullest.

Even though he is no longer with us, he will always be grateful to his best friend for giving him the greatest gift of all—the gift of life.
