I’ve always admired Sally Field — a true legend and gifted actress. At 76, she’s had a long and successful career, with memorable roles in Steel Magnolias, Gidget, Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Smokey and the Bandit.

Despite a difficult childhood, including abuse from her stepfather and a secret abortion at 17, she rose to become one of Hollywood’s most respected actresses.

She remains active today, recently appearing in Dispatches from Elsewhere and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

In a 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Sally revealed her worst on-screen kiss: Burt Reynolds, her co-star and former boyfriend from Smokey and the Bandit.

Though they dated for five years, she said the kissing scenes involved “a lot of drooling” and that it “just wasn’t something he really did well.”

Though Reynolds later expressed regret about their relationship, Sally explained she hadn’t spoken to him for the last 30 years of his life, saying, “He was just not good for me in any way.”
