His family confirmed that adult movie star Jay Hefner was killed in a shooting while protecting his cousin.

His family has called his death in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday a “senseless act of gun violence.” His real name was Saiveon Hopkins.

The 24-year-old man came to the city from his home in Ontario, Canada, to visit family and friends for a birthday.

Someone set up a GoFundMe page to help Hopkins’ family. It said that he died while “trying to protect his cousin from physical violence.”

A close friend of Hopkins’ mother Jeni Brown wrote on the page, “It’s never easy to lose a loved one, but losing a child is the worst loss anyone can ever feel.”

“SENSELESS”

Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, there were three separate shootings in Lincoln that had nothing to do with each other.

The incident involving Hopkins happened around 1:30 am, when police were called to a fight.

When they got there, they found two men who had been shot and took them to the hospital to get better.

Later, the police confirmed that the man, who was 24 years old, had died from his injuries.

“Despite immediate life-saving measures by medical personnel, the 24-year-old Lincoln man passed away from his injuries around 5:37 a.m,” a release said.

“LPD is not releasing his name at this time while next of kin is notified.”

1011 Now says that Hopkins’ family and an adult film production company confirmed that he was the victim of the shooting.

The second man from Lincoln, who is said to be in his 40s, is in stable condition with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The police are asking for more information about what happened.

The other shootings in the capital city happened on Saturday between 7:45 pm and 11:30 pm, but no one else was hurt.

Hopkins leaves behind his girlfriend Madeline, his 10-month-old daughter, his siblings, and his mother, who is dying and who he cared for.

“Saiveon was a shining light that was there for everyone who loved him,” Miller said.

“Father to a 10-month-old daughter, who adored him, he also helped his terminally ill mother care for his siblings.”

Madeline, his girlfriend, posted a video of him kissing her on the cheek on Instagram and said that her “heart is completely shattered.”

It was in a different post that she talked about her “whole heart in human form” and how she “instantly broke down” when his mother called.

“We had a lot of plans. I love you a lot, Saiveon. “I don’t know what to say,” she wrote.

“When your mom called I instantly broke down I’ve never felt this type of hurt and honestly idk how to get through it.”

It’s hard for me to put into words how much I love you, but you know what it was about us. Take it easy. I will never forget you. “Always us,” she added.

Miller set up a fundraiser that has already raised more than its goal in less than 24 hours.

As of this writing, $25,710 had been raised to help his family, who are already “under financial strain” because of his mother’s illness and now Hopkins’ death, the page says.

Someone in his field won an award and got a degree in dentistry the year before he died.

Social media posts say Hopkins was also a model and brand ambassador for Fashion Nova, Rockstar Original, and Drawlz Brand Co.

Fans of Hopkins’s work paid tribute to him on social media after his cousin told everyone on X about his death.

It breaks my heart to hear about your loss. Another artist said, “He was always such a gentleman when I saw him at events.”

“This is terrible. I’m sorry for your loss.” Someone else wrote, “He is loved a lot.”
