A sad funeral poem was written by the Prince and Princess of Wales for a pizza vendor they met while buying a stack for mountain rescue workers.

Super dad of two In May, Peter Morris, 47, died of cancer, just a few weeks after Kate was told she had it.

Prince William wrote his wife Tracey a letter of condolence on paper from Kensington Palace. Readers read it at his funeral.

“We can’t even begin to imagine what a huge hole he will leave in your life, and my heart goes out to you and your family,” he wrote.

“Catherine and I had a great time meeting Pete.

We know Pete was a very dedicated and well-liked member of the community because of how people reacted to his death.

You and your family are in our thoughts right now, I wanted you to know that.

Kate, Wills, and Peter from Ebbw Vale, South Wales, met in April of last year when they bought 12 pizzas from his converted VW van for £127.50.

While they were at Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil, they gave the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team a choice of pizzas, including margarita, pepperoni, BBQ chicken, and goats cheese.

Peter said at the time, “They were really nice.” When I was setting up the business, I never would have thought that one day I would work for the future king.

It was 2016 when Pete started Little Dragon Pizza Van.

He beat esophageal cancer, but doctors found it in his adrenal gland and liver four months after he became a royal. In less than a year, he died, but the business keeps going.

This letter from William will be framed for Pete’s daughters, who are eight and five years old.

“It came as a huge surprise,” Tracey, 40, told The Sun. The way they learned Pete had died is beyond me. They may have been moved by it because Kate is getting help.

He talked about how straightforward they were.

“There were a lot of letters from people who loved Pete, but the one from William and Kate stood out.”

William wrote Tracey, his widow, a letter of condolence on paper from Kensington Palace.
