A Wisconsin Dairy Queen put up a sign that said “politically incorrect,” and the owner stands by his choice.

The sign makes it clear that the restaurant is politically incorrect and also draws attention to the fact that it often uses holiday greetings like “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Easter,” and “God Bless America.” They also get free sundaes, the US flag, and words of thanks for their service in the military, which shows support for Veterans Day.

Kevin Scheunemann, the restaurant owner, defended the sign by saying that it had been up for almost four years to be clear about his and his staff’s service to God and the country.

Scheunemann said he put up the sign because a customer had complained about Christian music being played in the restaurant. Since then, the sign hasn’t caused any more trouble.

Officially, Dairy Queen said that Scheunemann’s plan is not supported by the company and that the sign only shows what this one owner thinks. The company said that all franchisees and employees should treat customers with respect and courtesy, no matter what religion they follow.
