Many people were sad to hear that a pop legend from the 1990s had died at the age of 53.
In 1997, Paul Spencer became well-known as a member of the Cheshire dance trio Dario G.
The first single by Dario G, “Sunchyme,” made it to number two on the UK Singles Chart and became their big break.
The group was named after Dario Gradi, who used to manage Crewe Alexandra. It was made up of three DJs: Scott Rosser, Stephen Spencer, and Paul.
The trio had other hits, like “Carnaval de Paris,” which they recorded for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
Paul told people on X, which used to be called Twitter, that he had been diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer in June of last year.
He told her it was “hard to write” but she should “stay positive.”
“Hard to write this,” Paul wrote. I just learned that I have stage 4 rectal cancer and a shadow on my liver.
“I’m sure that’s also really hard to read. I’m going to give it my all, though.
“Be happy, because I am. All the time. Going to see the doctors on Friday to talk about what to do next.”
Dario G paid tribute to the musician in a post on social media.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Paul Spencer earlier today,” it said.
“He was happy until the very end, but this was a battle he could no longer win.”
“Many people will always remember him for his great music and the good times they had with him.”
“Everyone who loved him will miss him very much.” “Let our big star shine bright.”
Under the group name, Paul put out 15 singles and three albums.
Hola, which came out in June 2020, was the most recent.
